What Does it Mean to Call Yourself a Cognitive Behavioral Coach?

Lecture description

Coaches trade their ability to help others realize their potential and reach their goals for money.  When you take on the role of a life coach it is important to remember that your client will make commitments in many ways and when you don't charge (or charge enough), you are actually derailing the possibility for exponential growth.

What does it mean to be a life coaching professional? Is it a fancy title, a specific skill set, or is it a combination of many different factors? In this video, we're going to flush out and unpack what it means to to call yourself a professional life coach on a ground floor level, on a base level, referring to yourself as a life coaching professional. It means that you engage with clients and you help those clients reach their goals by making meaningful changes in important areas of that person's life. Coaches, you and I coaches provide their services through individual coaching practices as well as in professional and corporate settings. Coaches work with clients one on one in person. Coaches also work with clients one on one, online coaches work with clients in small groups or large groups, regardless of the format. As a life coach, you use your training and your skill set to provide the drive and the guidance that your clients need in order to advance in their professional careers. You provide the drive and the guidance to help your clients advance in their personal relationships and in their lives in general. When you become a life coach, essentially you agree to trade your professional coaching skill set, you agree to trade your time, you agree to trade your ability at helping other people realize their dreams and helping other people step into their dreams and their aspirations. And in exchange, clients then agree to pay you in dollars or in any other currency that you choose. And the great thing is, is that if you work hard, if you become invested in your clients, you become the type of coach who makes a significant difference in the lives of other people, then your clients begin to pay you extremely well for your service. And this leads us then to the topic of money. The topic of money and being paid because yes, coaches get paid as a life coach, I would argue if you're not being paid for your services and you're not being paid well, then you're doing yourself. You're indeed doing your clients and you're also doing the coaching industry as a whole a a big disservice. But we are going to discuss money and psychological commitment that accompanies money in the next video. So let's go ahead and let's jump in to that.
