Course Introduction

You're very welcome to our Master University course, designed to prepare you to take the 7772 seven Microsoft Excel Core exam. By the end of this course, you will be very well prepared to take the exam and succeed in obtaining independent proof of your skills in Microsoft Excel. With light that you've chosen this Marsh University course and invite you to check out all of our other courses covering Microsoft Office Specialist for all Microsoft products at Core, Associate Expert and Master's levels. Microsoft are very good at telling potential exam candidates what would be included in their exams. They call this the objective domain. There's one for every product. They provide stratification in, and it's important that you understand and become familiar with the objective domain for the Excel core exam. You need to do this so that you can track your progress towards gaining the required skill in each element of that exam. I've included a PDF file with this lecture which lists all of the techniques included in the 77 7 to 7 exam Objective domain. Before you start reviewing the lectures for the course. If you have a printer, then you should print down this document and have it to hand for reference as you go through the course. Otherwise refer to the PDF as you go through the course materials. I've also included a complete 7777 exercise book, which contains exercises for every technique that you're required to master by Microsoft. If you can, then you should print this down also and keep it to hand for use at the end of each section of the course. Looking at the objective domain PDF which accompanies this lecture, you can see that there are five principal elements to the objective domain for core Excel. Objective domain. One is called Create and manage worksheets and workbooks. This is then split up into sub categories from 1.1. Create worksheets and workbooks to 1.5, Configure worksheets and workbook for distribution. Then we have the next major element in the domain, which is number two manage data cells and ranges. Each element of the objective domain is then further subdivided into further sections, for example. Section 1.1 is subdivided into four sections from 1.1. 1 to 1.1 0.4. These correspond to the lectures that are provided in the course. The exam tests your ability to use the techniques that are included in each of these sections of the domain and the curriculum for this course follows this numbering system. By the end of the course. You'll therefore know that you've covered every technique in every section of the objective domain for the 7777 certification exam. As I mentioned earlier, the course also comes complete with a comprehensive exercise book which provides exercises for each section of the domain. And as part of the course, we've also included video based solutions for all of the exercises in this book. Furthermore, the course also includes a complete practice exam together with video solutions. This practice exam is set to the exact standard of the 7272 seven exam and completing it will give you a real sense of the standard required and where your skills are in relation to that standard. If you're already familiar with Excel, then you can go straight to the objective domain exercises and test yourself to see whether you already have the required skills. Remember that this course is geared to get you through the certification exam, and that's my complete focus in the course. Microsoft are very specific and listening to skills you require to pass the test. The pass mark is 70%, so it's quite high and really does require that you have mastered the listed objectives. The good news is that you know what it is you have to learn in order to pass. So there's really no reason to fail. In the next lecture, we're going to explore what the exam looks like in practice and what you need to do to register for the exam. I've included this lecture so that on the day of the exam you'll be familiar with how the exam is presented and conductors. It will be a good idea to revisit this lecture when you're ready to sit the actual exam. So let's get started.
