10 Reasons Why People Don't Do Well in Interviews & Why You Will Do Well!

Lecture description

Here are 10 reasons why most people don't do well in interviews.

Please note, that by the end of this course you will NOT have any of the following 10 problems when it comes to interviewing, creating the perfect resume/LinkedIn profile, finding the right career for you and networking:

1: Lack of preparation.

2: Not personable enough. Relationships are more important than product knowledge. Bond first and then talk business later.

3: They don't bring the right exhibits and other items to the interview.

4: They don't have the proper body language or they are too confident or not confident enough - people decide sometimes within 10 seconds if they will hire someone.

5: Their resume or LinkedIn profile has gaps, shows a lack of consistency, is not search engine optimized so recruiters can find you and has the wrong profile picture etc.

6: They don't show that they are passionate about the role they are interviewing for. Never let your interviewer see that you are interviewing for a job. Rather, you are interviewing for something you love to do.

7: Their answers to questions lacks structure.

8: They ramble when answering questions; less is more!

9: Someone else that interviewed for the job appears more qualified.

10: They didn't answer the difficult questions the right way.

-: 10 reasons why people don't do well in interviews and why you will do well after this course. Number one: lack of preparation, okay. Number two: not being personable enough. Relationships are more important than (mumbles) knowledge, so you really have to bond first with the interviewer and then talk business later. People wanna hire people they like. I'll explains what that means in much more detail later. Number three: people don't bring the right exhibits and other items to the interview. I'm gonna have you create a number of documents and I'll help you create them. I'll give you a number for templates. And you'll bring these to the interview, and you'll pull them out of your bag. Those are your secret weapons. Give them to the interviewer if it seems appropriate. I'll explain much more about that later, because nobody does this, but you will. Number four: the don't have the proper body language or they're too confident or not confident enough. Okay, a lot of times people decide within 10 seconds if they're gonna hire somebody. You never have a second chance to make a first impression. Number five: the resume or LinkedIn profile has gaps, which shows a lack of consistency. You might have even the wrong profile picture, et cetera. I'll explain that more in detail. So we're discussing interviewing first, again, so you can reverse engineer the whole process and create and enhance your LinkedIn profile in part two and your resume as well. And once you enhance your resume and LinkedIn profile, then it's so much easier to get interviews, and I'll show you exactly how later. The sixth reason that most people don't get jobs while they've been interviewed is: they don't show that they're passionate about the role that they're interviewing for. Never let your interviewer know or see that you're interviewing for a job. Rather, let them know or believe that you're interviewing for something you're truly passionate about. Something you love doing. Something you were born to do. Number seven: the answers to the questions that they give lack structure. Okay, and I'll explain how to structure questions. I'll teach you even how to answer questions if you have no idea where to start, and I'll teach you how to buy time as well. Okay, there's really cool tricks I'll teach you, okay. Number eight: they ramble when answering questions. Less is more. In fact, I'm gonna teach you how to answer questions and end the answer of your question in a certain way so that the interviewer will ask you the next question and you'll know what they're gonna ask. Then you can kill the interview. It's a great technique I learned in my career, and I'll teach you. Number nine: somebody else has interviewed for the job that is more qualified than you are. That's not gonna happen after they see you interview in this course, okay. And if you do get rejected, it's not over yet. Okay, and I'll cover that later in this course. And the last reason why people don't get the job of their dream while they're interviewing is: they didn't answer the difficult questions the right way. So I'm gonna teach you how to turn your weaknesses into strengths when you're answering questions about your weaknesses.
