Ahmed Moustafa is a PMP certified senior engineer with over 25 years of experience in engineering projects. He has extensive project management skills in both agile and waterfall environments. Ahmed has direct experience in contaminated site assessments, site monitoring, and remedial excavation, and excels in leading engineering teams, coaching people, and aligning stakeholder needs. He successfully raised millions of dollars for clean-tech projects.
Ahmed is currently working as an environmental engineer where he initiated, planned, and managed site investigations and remediation plans, and managed field work. As a geo-environmental consultant, Ahmed conducted environmental investigation and engineering analyses of tailings, participated in developing a waste disposal design manual, and designed Tailings Storage Facilities.
Ahmed's research and teaching assistant roles at The University of Alberta and The Pennsylvania State University included evaluating commercial wastewater treatment technologies for the reclamation of tailings, characterizing oil sands tailings using several techniques, and assessing several oil spill remediation technologies for efficiency and recyclability.
In terms of his education, Ahmed has a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta, an MS in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and a BSc in Water Resources/Civil Engineering from AinShams University in Cairo, Egypt. He is also a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and has received several honors, awards, and scholarships for his work.
Ahmed enjoys soccer, clay pigeon shooting, and biking in his free time. He is passionate about volunteering in education-related events. He serves as a professional judge for FIRST Lego League tournaments and Intel ISEF competitions, and enjoys using his expertise to help students excel in these areas.
