Hi, I’m Ben. I taught for 15 years in London, Bristol, and Singapore before retraining as a career coach. Like many teachers, I reached a point where I started asking whether I wanted to stay in the classroom long term, and what other options might exist beyond teaching.

When I learned that tens of thousands of teachers leave the profession each year, I became curious about where they go and how they make that transition. Through my Bold Moves interview series, I’ve spoken with former teachers who have moved into a wide range of roles and built fulfilling careers beyond education.

My work now focuses on helping teachers think clearly about career change: understanding their strengths, recognising transferable skills, exploring realistic options, and taking thoughtful next steps without panic or pressure.

My approach is practical, reflective, and grounded in real experience. I don’t believe in quick fixes or telling people what they “should” do. Instead, I aim to create space for clarity, confidence, and informed decision-making, so people can move forward in a way that feels right for them.
