Dr. Buddhadeva Sahoo received the graduation and master degrees in Electrical Engineering from BPUT, Rourkela, India, in 2014 and 2016, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from SOA University, Bhubaneswar, India, in 2021. He successfully completed his postdoctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT-Bhubaneswar) under the SERB-NPDF Scheme, where he made significant contributions to the field of electrical and energy systems.

He is currently serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department at SR University, India. Dr. Sahoo has authored several research papers in reputed international journals and conferences, including IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Wiley, and Springer. His research interests include multilevel inverters, robust controller design, hybrid and virtual power plant (VPP)-integrated microgrids, smart grid technologies, digital twin frameworks, electric vehicle systems, power quality, and reliability enhancement.

He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the SERB NPDF Award (2022), CSIR-SRF Award (2020), BPUT Research Award (2021), Abel Wolman Memorial Award (2024) from the Institution of Engineers (India), the Madhusudan Award (2021) from IEI, and Institution Awards in 2019 and 2020 from IEI. Several of his conference papers and book chapters have earned Best Paper Awards at acclaimed IEEE and Springer conferences.

Dr. Sahoo serves on the Editorial Board of Discover Electronics (Springer Nature) and as an Editor for Scientific Reports and PLOS ONE. He also served as Guest Editor for the Special Issue “Hybrid Microgrid Systems” in Energies (MDPI).
