I am a weight loss and long-term weight maintenance coach, author, and founder of Mindset Over Menu.
After losing around 42 kilograms myself (92 pounds), I became especially interested in a part of weight management that receives surprisingly little attention: what happens after the weight comes off, and how we can build the skills needed to maintain the result over the long term.
My work focuses on emotional eating, cravings, limiting thoughts, setbacks, self-coaching, habit change, and the psychological skills involved in sustainable weight management. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and use evidence-based cognitive and behavioral principles within the scope of coaching, not psychotherapy.
My approach is practical and realistic. I do not teach perfection, extreme restriction, or the idea that successful weight loss should always feel easy. I help people understand their eating patterns, respond more effectively to cravings and difficult emotions, recover after mistakes, and build strategies they can realistically continue using in everyday life.
I am also the author of “Lose It. Keep It Off. Live It.”, a practical guide focused on sustainable weight loss and, especially, maintaining the benefits of weight loss over time.
For me, successful weight management is about much more than reaching a number on the scale. Losing weight can bring important benefits such as more energy, easier movement, greater physical comfort, better health prospects, increased self-efficacy, and more freedom around food. Maintenance is what allows us to keep experiencing those benefits year after year.
