I am a health communication researcher and educator with a PhD in Communication, specialising in how media and digital environments shape health behaviours. For over a decade, my work has focused on translating complex research into practical, accessible guidance for real-world audiences.

Alongside teaching media and communication, I have conducted research on social media use among children and adolescents, particularly its influence on health behaviours, risk perception, and wellbeing. I am deeply interested in how parents can better understand the digital environments their teens navigate every day.

Beyond academia, I am passionate about creating clear, evidence-based content for non-specialist audiences. I believe that research should not stay in journals — it should empower families, educators, and communities.

In this course, I combine academic insight with practical guidance to help parents approach social media with clarity, confidence, and balance rather than fear.
