Dr. Meyer is highly educated and kind of a nerd. She holds 2 B.A.s (Comparative Religions and Classics), 2 M.A.s (Mythology with an emphasis on Depth Psychology and Religious Studies), and a Ph.D. (Hebrew Bible with an emphasis on Ancient Eastern History and Archaeology). While she has dedicated her life to understanding religion, she is not a theologian. Likewise, while she greatly respects all the texts that she works with, she also approaches all of it a bit of a sense of humor because people in ALL eras are a little ridiculous, and ancient people loved to laugh just as much as we do. Laughing, crying, asking questions, disagreeing and wrestling with sacred texts (all of them!) helps us go beyond just reading to experiencing them.
