Hello! My name is Rebecca and I have twenty-five years of experience teaching people of all backgrounds from the age of six to seventy. I obtained my PhD in African Languages and Cultures ; my Masters in Comparative East Asian and African Literature and my BA in Japanese Language and Culture from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
I am a Senior Lecturer at a college in London and also teach from my own platform, which I developed in order to make courses accessible for busy people.
I am a published academic, with articles in the Journal of Qur'anic Studies, the Oxford Journal of Islamic Studies, the Journal of Shi'a Islamic Studies, the American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences, and the Claremont Journal of Religion.
Translations that I have worked on from French and Persian to English have been published by IB Tauris London and Islam IFC, Qum.
I have published two books: Passing through the Dream - a collection of short stories, and Shi'i Spirituality for the Twenty-First Century - a collection of lectures.
My hobbies are looking after my pigeons, travelling to different countries and meeting people, visiting art galleries, fashion, and writing fiction. My favourite animals are cats.
