Dr. Benjamin Liu is a legal expert in financial markets law, insolvency law, and artificial intelligence law. He has a PhD in law, is a qualified solicitor in New Zealand and in England and Wales, and has completed all three exams in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Programme. He previously worked at international law firms and banks. He is now a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Auckland Business School, Member of the Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association New Zealand (RITANZ), Academic Member of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL), Honorary Fellow of the Asian Institute of International Financial Law, and Member of the AI Researchers Association. He frequently appears in the media and speaks at academic, industry, and public events on issues at the intersection of finance, technology, and law.
