I’ve spent the last 15+ years building, operating and teaching modern infrastructure—and more than 300,000 students have learned with me along the way.
I’m Gourav Shah, a DevOps, Cloud, AI and Platform Engineering educator with 15,000+ hours of professional training experience and more than a decade of working with engineering teams around the world.

My journey started as an Operations Engineer, where I spent my days working with Linux, infrastructure, automation and production systems. I later joined Adobe as an IT Operations Manager, before taking the entrepreneurial path and founding School of DevOps, where my focus shifted from operating systems to helping other engineers master them.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to train engineers and technology teams at organizations including Adobe, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, Ericsson, NetApp, Walmart Labs, Visa, Wells Fargo and ANZ, among many others.

I’m also the author of Ansible Playbook Essentials, published by Packt, and have created six official courses for The Linux Foundation. Through my online courses, I’ve taught technology to 300,000+ learners worldwide.

But credentials are only part of the story.

I’m a builder first and an instructor second. I learn technologies by building systems, breaking them, debugging them and figuring out how they actually work. That philosophy shapes every course I create.
