Gregory Davenport, DHSc, PA-C has dedicated more than 40 years to preparing people to face adversity with knowledge, confidence, and compassion. A physician associate, educator, author, and former U.S. Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Specialist, Greg has spent his career serving where preparedness matters most, from military survival training and emergency medicine to disaster response and humanitarian missions in some of the world's most challenging environments.
Throughout his career, Greg has combined real-world experience with a passion for education. He has authored six books, taught graduate healthcare professionals in disaster medicine and global health, and shared his expertise through television, radio, podcasts, and public speaking. His work has taken him from classrooms to disaster zones, always with the same goal: helping others become more capable before crisis strikes.
Today, Greg serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he teaches in the Doctor of Medical Science program and was honored with the Faculty of the Year Award (2026). Through his educational platform, Prepared Service, he continues to mentor healthcare professionals, emergency managers, first responders, and community leaders by translating decades of experience into practical lessons that can be applied immediately.
Greg believes preparedness is more than emergency supplies or response plans—it is a mindset of leadership, service, and resilience. Whether teaching future medical providers, consulting with organizations, or speaking to communities, his mission remains the same: to help others protect lives, strengthen communities, and serve with confidence when it matters most.
