Felt landscape artist Janine Jacques has a love of nature and beautiful landscapes which began at a young age. Growing up on a Lincolnshire farm, she enjoyed a lovely view from her bedroom window, overlooking the rolling fields, which sparked her lifelong passion for landscapes.

She kept many animals including a small flock of four sheep, which often find there way into her artistic creations. Today, Janine's chosen medium is wool, which she manipulates to breathe life into her felt landscapes.

Janine's artwork merges her academic degree in painting with the ancient art of felt-making, to celebrate and bring together the different skills of wet felting, needle felting and hand sewing. Using wool as her primary medium, she 'paints' her landscapes, refining details through needle felting and embellishing with delicate hand embroidery.

Janine graduated from University in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting and Drawing, followed by a P.G.C.E. in Secondary Art Education. Following a successful 10 year career in web design, she returned to her artistic roots to follow her passion in creating felt landscape art and inspire others through a programme of felt making workshops.

Today, Janine resides and works in Yorkshire, within easy reach of the beautiful countryside that continues to inspire her.
