I am the co-founder and first Head of School at Avasara Academy, an all-girls secondary school in India focused on developing young women leaders and changemakers. Since 2015, Avasara’s programs have served more than 5,800 students, including over 600 students at the Academy itself. We now have 225 graduates, and about 90% of them are enrolled in undergraduate programs in India, the United States, Australia, and Canada.

My work at Avasara has centered on building a school culture that is serious about learning and warm in its relationships: high expectations matched with high support. I care deeply about designing systems, rituals, and social-emotional structures—like advisory and grade-level seminars—that respond to the unique needs of our students. One example is our annual Planting Ceremony, where students and staff write down their hopes for the year and plant them at the roots of a tree as a reminder that goals, like plants, need to be cultivated over time.

Before Avasara, I served as Director of Institutional Advancement at the American School of Bombay, where I worked closely with the Head of School and Board of Trustees on governance, strategic planning, communications, and alumni relations. Earlier, as Special Assistant to a Superintendent of public schools in New York City, I supported complex, region-wide projects, including the school-choice application process for 144 schools serving over 100,000 students.

Across these roles, my focus has been consistent: increasing access to opportunities, simplifying complex systems without losing their integrity, and designing school operations that reduce friction for students and staff while staying grounded in empathy, fairness, and shared purpose.

On Udemy, I create courses for new and experienced school leaders and aspiring school founders. My teaching style is calm, structured, and practical. My aim is to offer you a clear process you can adapt to your context, help you feel more confident tackling the challenges in front of you, and leave you with concrete next steps—not just ideas.

I hold a BA in American Studies from Yale University and an MA in Latin American Cultural Politics from the University of London. I also work as a consultant, coach, advisor, and board member with education-focused organizations.
