Chinotore is an educational and developmental support program designed for children with intellectual disabilities, particularly those with Down syndrome and autism. It is jointly developed by Bamboo Wow Co., Ltd. and Ms. Tomoko Makita of the Child Development Research Institute.
Bamboo Wow operates early childhood development support services and after-school day services, mainly for children with Down syndrome, in Tokyo and Saitama.
Children with intellectual disabilities often face challenges in the early stages of development, particularly in the growth of the five senses—such as vision, hearing, and touch—as well as in body awareness and motor functions.
For example, when given a toy, they may not reach out for it spontaneously or may have difficulty using it appropriately. These difficulties are often related to delays or challenges in sensory development, especially in visual and tactile processing.
As a result, the natural developmental process—where a child becomes interested, engages independently, and learns through play—may not occur as expected. This can lead to increasing challenges as the child grows.
Chinotore is a structured developmental program that focuses on building these foundational abilities. Through early and active intervention, it supports the development of cognitive functions in children with disabilities.
