Born and raised in the city of Porto, Kako studied Multimedia and Audiovisual at the School of Media Arts & Design between 2019 and 2021. He completed his academic journey with the 3D animated short film“Os Magalhães”, which was awarded second place at the Sophia Student Awards in the Experimental Animation category.
Since then, he has developed individual and collaborative projects, both in Portugal and abroad, in partnership with artists, brands and companies. His practice spans areas such as illustration, photography, video, animation and graphic design, crossing different visual languages and allowing each discipline to expand, influence and dance with the others within a cohesive, sensitive and constantly evolving creative universe.
In the field of illustration, he has been deepening his study of detailed fineliner drawing, exploring worlds and themes that range from fiction to realistic studies of fauna, flora and architecture, as well as the creation of anthropomorphic characters inspired by the imagery of fables, while developing both personal projects and bespoke client commissions.
