I am Dr. K. Santhosh Kumar, currently serving as an Asst. Professor and Dean of Admission in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SR University, Warangal. My academic journey began with a passion for understanding the intricate world of materials, which led me to earn my Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, India, along with a Master of Science - NIT Trichy.
Over the years, my research has focused on nanomaterials, particularly rare-earth and dopping nanomaterials, as well as super alloy materials, metamaterials, and Tribology - condition monitoring. My expertise also extends to computational materials, metals, metal oxides, and ceramics, coatings with a strong emphasis on developing advanced materials for industrial applications.
My research highlights include synthesizing nanomaterials using various techniques such as Sol-Gel, ball-milling, and precipitation. I have conducted extensive X-ray studies on Tribo contact bearing surfaces and alloys and explored rare-earth nanomaterials for their potential industrial applications. My work has also delved into the size-dependent thermal and mechanical properties of nanoparticles, as well as the Infrared imaging techniques, Vibration and acoustic-based condition monitoring techniques, especially for Industrial bearing applications.
I have been fortunate to contribute to the academic community through 14 peer-reviewed research papers published in internationally Scopus-indexed conference proceedings. Additionally, I have 16 Indian patents, 1 German patent granted.
Teaching has been a significant part of my career, with 10 years of experience in the classroom and 15 years dedicated to research and 4 years of Industry experience.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to mentoring students, driving innovative research, and actively participating in faculty development programs. Guided by a passion for lifelong learning, I am committed to sharing my knowledge and fostering a collaborative, forward-thinking academic community where both students and colleagues can thrive.
