About me
Hi everyone, I'm a developmental psychologist, and my passion is empowering teens to thrive. My journey started with my own upbringing, where education and family support were key. This fueled my deep interest in child development, adolescent development, and particularly, social-emotional learning (SEL).
I pursued this interest all the way through to a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Stanford University and postdoctoral research at Harvard, where I focused on teen mental health and educational interventions. This academic background, combined with my experience at international educational institutions and research centers, has given me a rich understanding of cross-cultural education.
My expertise lies in several critical areas for today's teens. I specialize in adolescent psychology, educational psychology, and teen mental health. I'm deeply committed to helping teens navigate anxiety, depression, stress management, and building resilience.
I'm particularly skilled in social-emotional learning (SEL), which I believe is fundamental to success. I design and implement programs that foster emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and healthy relationships. I also focus heavily on resilience training, providing teens with the tools to overcome challenges and bounce back from adversity. My experience in cross-cultural education allows me to provide guidance that is sensitive to diverse backgrounds.
I'm also passionate about parent education. I work closely with parents, providing them with effective parenting strategies and support to help their teens. My teaching approach is very interactive. I use interactive learning, case studies, group discussions, and role-playing to make complex psychological concepts accessible and engaging for teens. I'm dedicated to bridging the gap between psychological theory and real-world application, making it easier for teens to understand and apply these concepts.
My educational philosophy is centered on the belief that every teen has incredible potential. I see my role as an educator to ignite their intrinsic motivation, foster critical thinking skills, nurture creativity, and cultivate social responsibility. I strongly advocate for personalized learning because I believe in celebrating each teen's unique strengths and addressing their specific needs. I also believe that a teen's growth requires a collaborative effort – a strong partnership between family, school, and the wider community.
Beyond my direct work with teens, I'm actively involved in global education reform as a consultant for international education organizations. I share my research and insights at international conferences and forums. Through my online courses and workshops, I'm able to extend my reach, helping countless teens and parents.
Ultimately, I'm here to support teens in their journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and achieving their full potential. I'm committed to providing them with the tools and strategies they need to build self-esteem, improve their mental well-being, and thrive in today's complex world.
