Prakash Shakti is an Automotive Software and Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer with more than eight years of experience in embedded software development, ECU diagnostics, and vehicle validation for electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine powertrain systems. He has extensive expertise in UDS diagnostics based on ISO 14229, ECU flashing, AUTOSAR diagnostics, functional safety based on ISO 26262, and model based development using MATLAB and Simulink.
He is currently working as a Vehicle Diagnostic Engineer in the commercial vehicle industry, where he is responsible for ECU flashing, parameterization, software updates, End of Line validation, diagnostic verification, and root cause analysis. His experience includes validating ECU software, configuring vehicle specific calibration data, managing diagnostic trouble codes, and supporting production quality through advanced diagnostic tools and Python based automation workflows.
Previously, Prakash worked as a Software Engineer in the automotive domain, where he developed Simulink based software for EV, HEV, and ICE powertrain ECUs. He implemented UDS diagnostic services, integrated AUTOSAR Diagnostic Communication Manager modules, achieved full MCDC code coverage through model based testing, and contributed to functional safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262.
Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant Professor in Automobile Engineering, teaching subjects including Vehicle Dynamics, Internal Combustion Engines, and Aerodynamics while mentoring student projects focused on electric vehicles and battery systems.
Prakash has contributed to projects involving EV battery pack design, thermal modeling, diagnostic data logging, and electric vehicle drivetrain simulation. He holds a Master Certification in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Design and Simulation, an M-Tech in Automobile Engineering, and a B-Tech in Automobile Engineering. He is passionate about developing reliable automotive software and diagnostic solutions for next generation mobility technologies.
