Dr. M. Ferni Ukrit is a Professor in the Department of Computational Intelligence at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai, with 24 years of teaching experience and over 15 years of research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Healthcare AI. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, M.E. (CSE) with First Class with Distinction and B.E. (CSE) with First Class with Distinction. She has published more than 70 research publications, secured 3 granted patents and 5 published patents, completed 2 internal funded research projects, undertaken multiple consultancy and collaborative industry projects. She has received multiple Best Paper Awards, Inventor Award, and numerous appreciation awards from academia and industry. She has organized and convened 30+ international conferences, FDPs, STTPs, workshops, and technical events, completed 25+ professional development programmes and certifications, guided numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for Artificial Intelligence Specialization. Her research focuses on developing intelligent AI-driven solutions for healthcare, computer vision, medical image analysis, and smart systems.
