I'm a historian and educator, the creator of Gudea TW, a YouTube channel with over 10,000 subscribers that uses the historical Total War games as a gateway into real history.

I hold a BA in History from the University of San Francisco and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago. I have taught at Yerevan State University, taught Old Persian at the university level, and given public lectures on Mesopotamian, Persian, Armenian, and medieval history. I work with sources in their original languages, including Akkadian, Sumerian, Hittite, Elamite, Old Persian, and Classical Armenian, and I have published research in Near Eastern and Armenian Studies.

My courses combine scholarly rigor with clear, engaging teaching. I focus on the forces that shaped civilizations, from the first cities of Mesopotamia to Byzantium, the Crusades, and medieval Europe.
