Oliver Trenton is a specialist in storytelling. He studied film and theater studies at the University of Berlin. He has been working as a writer for film and television since 1986 and as a script consultant  since 1990. He received the German Screenplay Award in 1988 for his first screenplay, "Koan."

In 1995, he founded the Master School Drehbuch, a continuing education institution, which he headed until the end of 2008. In 1995, he also began his extensive teaching career in Germany and abroad. In 2000, he initiated Scriptforum, the first German conference and trade fair for screenwriting and story development, where he served as artistic director until 2006. For seven years now, he has been head of SerienLab, a nine-month writers' workshop for high-quality fictional series. Since 2022, he has been working intensively with AI and its applications for authors. In 2023, he published the book "AI and the Art of Storytelling" and has since been giving regular international lectures and workshops on this topic.

Oliver Trenton is the pen name of Oliver Schütte, who splits his time between San Francisco and Berlin. Today, he works as a script consultant, lecturer at international film schools, publicist, and author.

His works include the following books "Die Kunst des Drehbuchlesens" and "Schau mir in die Augen, Kleines", both of which are now in their fourth edition. In 2019, he published 'The Netflix Revolution', followed by 'Die Kunst der Drehbuchentwicklung' in 2022.

In addition to his non-fiction books, he has also made a name for himself as a novelist. His debut novel, Die Rote Burg (The Red Castle), was published in 2015, followed by Tödlicher Schnitt (Deadly Cut) in 2019.
