Olivier Cleynen, PhD, is an engineer, scientist and teacher who likes turning complicated topics into things students can work with.

Olivier has been teaching engineering and physics for 15 years, from high school classrooms to French écoles d’ingénieurs and university lecture halls. His textbook Engineering Thermodynamics is downloaded all over the world. He lives with his family in Magdeburg, Germany.

A passionate teacher, Olivier keeps learning all the time. He wants to show you how to think like a fluid dynamicist — how to frame problems, compute the key quantities, and decide what is important in your fluid flow.
