Hi, I'm Ozgur. I have been living in Chiba, Japan, for almost four years, and I went through the Japanese foreign driver's license conversion process myself.

My license conversion journey took two and a half years and seven driving test attempts. During that time, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be for foreign drivers to understand exactly what Japanese examiners expect during the driving skill test.

After each unsuccessful attempt, I received feedback from Japanese examiners and gradually learned the specific safety checks, driving procedures, and details expected during the test. I eventually passed the driving skill test in April 2026.

I created this course to share what I learned throughout that journey in a clear and practical way. My goal is to help other foreign residents better understand what is expected during the test, avoid the mistakes I made, and hopefully make their own license conversion journey easier.

As a foreign resident myself, I know that adapting to life in another country can come with many challenges. I believe that sharing what we learn from our own experiences can make those challenges a little easier for others.
