Following his return to Sri Lanka, Prof Ariyasinghe played a key role in establishing and nurturing the Niigata–Peradeniya Sister Link Program, which has grown into a sustained institutional partnership facilitating academic exchange, collaborative research, and student mobility between the two universities. Over the years, this initiative has expanded across multiple faculties and has contributed to strengthening bilateral academic engagement.
His teaching spans core areas of human physiology, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and neurophysiology, with a strong emphasis on clarity, application, and student-centered learning. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, he is actively involved in examinations, curriculum development, and mentoring of students and young academics.
