Dr. R. Ramya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at St. Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai, with over 20 years of dedicated teaching experience. She earned her B. Tech. in Information Technology with First Class from Madras University in 2002, her M. Tech. in Computer Science with First Class from Pondicherry University in 2006, and her Ph.D. from Sathya bama University in 2020.

Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Ramya has been committed not only to imparting technical knowledge but also to inspiring students to become confident, ethical, and innovative professionals. She believes that education is most impactful when it nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Her passion for research has led to the publication of more than 20 papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. She has also been recognized for her excellence in teaching with the Best Teacher Award in 2017 and received research funding from the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) in 2018.

Dr. Ramya's research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Mining. She is enthusiastic about exploring emerging technologies and translating research into practical solutions that benefit both academia and society.

Known for her approachable nature and student-centered teaching philosophy, Dr. Ramya strives to create an engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, think creatively, and achieve their full potential. Her mission is to empower the next generation of engineers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make meaningful contributions to the rapidly evolving world of technology.
