About me
Hi, I'm Raza Ahmad, a certified Network, Security, Cloud, and IT professional currently working as an IT Instructor in Melbourne, Australia.
I have extensive experience working with multi-vendor technologies, including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Servers, Microsoft 365 and Security, Linux, Data Analytics, AWS, and Microsoft Azure.
Throughout my career, I have delivered training in Cybersecurity, Networking, Cloud Computing, Software, and Firewall technologies to corporate and government clients, including Telstra, SA Power Networks, BHP, ABC, Catholic IT, Boeing, Geoscience Australia, Siemens, Tabcorp, AKIPS, Saab, Australian Government organisations, and the Department of Defence.
My experience in Network and Security technologies includes Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Check Point, Palo Alto Networks, and other enterprise technologies.
I have hands-on experience with Next-Generation Firewalls, including Juniper SRX, Fortinet FortiGate, Check Point, and Palo Alto Networks. My areas of experience include firewall deployment, security policies, zone management, SSL/TLS inspection, web and URL filtering, Data Loss Prevention, Threat Prevention, IPS, IDS, IPsec VPNs, Active Directory integration, and firewall security testing.
In networking, I have worked with Routing and Switching technologies including Static Routing, OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2, BGP, routing policies, redistribution, NAT, DHCP, Syslog, SNMP, NTP, Prefix Lists, Policy-Based Routing, GRE Tunnels, DMVPN, IPv6, VLANs, STP, RSTP, MST, VTP, EtherChannel, Private VLANs, Port Security, 802.1X authentication, VLAN ACLs, RSPAN, Wireless LAN Controllers, and Access Points. I also have experience with Cisco Unified Communications, Call Manager, VoIP, and VPN technologies.
My Cloud Computing experience covers both AWS and Microsoft Azure. I have worked with Virtual Machines, VPCs, Virtual Networks, Network Peering, Route Tables, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, AWS Cognito, Single Sign-On, DNS Zones, S3 Buckets, Storage Accounts, AWS RDS, Web Applications, Azure Traffic Manager, Identity Management, and DevOps pipelines.
I also have experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, AD Connect, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Group Policy, DHCP, Microsoft Intune, MDM policies, Security and Compliance, and Power Apps.
In Cybersecurity, I have worked with Linux security technologies such as iptables, UFW, and IPsec, along with security and vulnerability assessment tools including Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, Maltego, theHarvester, Hashcat, GPG, Metasploit, Sn1per, Anomali, CVSS, Microsoft Sentinel, MITRE ATT&CK, and Splunk.
My experience also includes Data Analytics and Business Intelligence technologies such as Oracle 19c, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Tableau, Power BI, and Primavera P6.
I also work with Red Hat Linux, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Containers, Docker, Ansible, Hyper-V, VMware, Oracle VirtualBox, and F5 Load Balancers.
My goal as an instructor is to make complex IT concepts easier to understand through practical examples, real-world scenarios, demonstrations, and hands-on labs.
