About me
I started my Journey into Taichi, in 1998 at the age of 18. We started with the Short form 37 posture of Professor Chen man Qing lineage and later went into Long form 6 part.
What attracted me to Tai Chi in particular, at least in the beginning was its peaceful appearance, graceful postures and seemingly effortlessness of moving. I was never really interested in Fighting or Self defense however throughout my training slowly i was introduced to the Origin of Tai chi, and how it was known in early centuries for its famous practitioners of different families, how it changed into the myriad of styles (Chen, Yang, Sun, Wu etc.).
This proved to me that Tai chi in essence is a very creative ever changing art, however maintaining the essence is important and certain principles that cannot be left out complete the Taichi making it TaiJi Chuan (Grand ultimate / supreme fist)
I trained at 2 different schools in my journey, in the second school learning 42 combined competition form i teach at my classes. However i find the qualities of the Short form to be special and this is why i decided to embark on teaching with focus the 37 posture short form and applications, Long form 6 parts later on push hands training as well as 2 Sword forms, 1 saber form.
It is with thanks and honor to my main Taiji Sifu, Andre Seisei/Sifu, who passed away 2 years ago tragically that i carry on his lineage. To truly pass on the knowledge and learnings of what one treasures is keeping our ancestors and teachers alive through passing on their thoughts, effort and wisdom. I treasure my time learning with highly skilled teachers and truly want to share the art with whoever i can.
