Having worked aboard traditionally-rigged sailing vessels for over a decade, Captain Melin has extensive experience both teaching and using a wide variety of knots and splices. In addition to knowledge gained though multiple ocean crossings and numerous blue water voyages, he also holds a 500-ton Oceans Master license as well as other USCG and STCW credentials.
