I am Sairam R, an Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmacy at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Chennai Campus, specializing in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry.

I hold a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmacognosy and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). My academic and research interests include medicinal plants, phytochemistry, natural products, herbal drug development, plant-based medicines, and pharmaceutical applications of natural resources.

I am passionate about teaching Pharmacognosy in a simple, clear, and engaging manner, especially for students who are beginning their journey in pharmacy. I believe that understanding the fundamentals is essential for developing a strong foundation for advanced learning and research.

Through this course, I aim to help learners understand the fundamentals, history, development, present status, scope, and importance of Pharmacognosy and appreciate the valuable role of medicinal plants and natural products in pharmaceutical sciences.
