Engr. (Dr.) Shehu Ibrahim Maik is a seasoned engineer, management systems professional, auditor, trainer, and quality management practitioner with nearly three decades of professional experience at the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
He holds a PhD and M.Eng. in Industrial and Production Engineering, a Masters Degree in Peace and Security Studies, and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. He is a COREN-registered engineer and a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, with extensive professional experience in standards, conformity assessment, management systems certification, auditing, training, and organisational improvement.
Dr. Maik has worked extensively with ISO management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and other related frameworks. His professional journey has involved standards development, certification, auditing, training programme development, technical review, competency development, and institutional leadership.
As a trainer and practitioner, he is passionate about transforming complex standards and auditing principles into practical knowledge that learners can understand, apply and confidently use in real organisational situations.
His teaching philosophy is simple: learn the principle, understand the process, apply it correctly, and develop the professional judgement to know the difference. He brings real-world experience, practical examples, professional discipline and a strong commitment to competence, integrity and continuous improvement to every course.
