Hello there! I’m Tara Vanli, an economist, researcher, and educator passionate about sustainability, smart cities and ESG. My journey has taken me from civil engineering to economics, blending technical expertise with big-picture systems thinking to explore how we can build smarter, greener, and more resilient futures.

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics, with a research focus on smart cities and urban sustainability. Alongside my doctoral studies, I earned an MBA in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, giving me a unique perspective at the intersection of infrastructure, business, and policy.

Professionally, I have served as a Senior Research Analyst, leading projects on corporate governance, ESG, and sustainability strategies for global companies. I’ve also founded and managed my own consultancy, and I’ve delivered workshops and presentations on circular economy, sustainability, and smart city innovation.

My research has been published in leading international journals such as Cities, Environment Development and Sustainability, and Social Indicators Research. I also regularly contribute to blogs and thought leadership pieces on circular practices, governance, and ESG trends.
