With over a decade’s experience working in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and NPOs, I have come across my fair share of moments that require a stable and healthy mental state. I built my career as an exceptional Project and Operations Manager on the principle of always giving the very best of yourself no matter the circumstances. This worked for a while until it became apparent that I was not a robot. I was diagnosed with clinical depression in 2017 after going through a major depressive episode caused by years of anxiety and people pleasing.
Since then, I have made it my life’s mission to educate as many people about mental health, bring awareness on how it affects every aspect of our lives and help as many people as possible on their mental wellness journey. My lived experience of struggling with depression, being judged for the diagnosis, family not understanding it at first and being a mother of a son diagnosed with ADHD makes me empathize with anyone dealing with any sort of trauma and mental health condition.
Ziphora Foundation is my contribution to making mental health support accessible to communities; removing the stigma around mental health and increasing mental wellness in our schools, workplaces and communities at large.
